NVIDIA RTX 3080 Video Card Launch Event
You had me at Holodecks!
NVIDIA’s stock price (NVDA) has been on quite a run and has made a fortune for it’s CEO Jensen Huang. I always like watching Jensen Huang’s presentations because they always include game trailers and gameplay footage.
Even though the presentations are always hype-filled, I do enjoy the entertainment value as well as hoping prices will drop on newly “outdated” video cards, but the prices never drop.

I currently game on a laptop I purchased for $1,000.00 a year ago. I would rather have a computer with a 2080 Ti, but I am still trying to figure out the best intersection of cost, value and benefit for such a purchase.
Anyway, the new flagship RTX 3080 is priced @ $699. So, probably $900.00 on Amazon. The RTX 3070 is priced @ $499.

The new RTX 3090, available September 24, 2020, is priced @ $1499 and replaces the Titan line of cards.

The RTX 3080 will go on sale September 17, 2080. It will of course strategically sell out on NVIDIA.com and sell at a premium on other sites like Amazon etc. The RTX 3070 launches sometime in October, 2020.
So, forget a pandemic and unemployment, this capitalism gravy train is not stopping for anyone.
